THE BLUSHING Bakeshop

Filed under: Portraits, Wedding Photography — banfii @ 12:20 am

One of the exciting things about starting afresh is meeting new people and being pumped by amazing ideas and creativity. Monica Patel, the owner and Cupcake Creator  at The BLUSHING Bakeshop is an embodiment of creativity, kindness and a big heart!

I met Monica at a Bridal Show less than 3 weeks after arriving here in Charlotte. I was fascinated by her cup cakes and quickly thought that it would be so cool to cross-market my photography services with her business. We exchanged business cards plus I also offered to shoot at her store’s grand opening and I went my merry way. Fast forward to 4 weeks later - while strolling through Ballantyne Village stores, I noticed Monica’s store and quickly rushed inside only to be met by a big “Hello”. Monica still remembered my name and profusely aplogized for not responding to an email I had sent shortly after meeting her in January.  Just like our first meeting in January, Monica patiently explained all the details surrounding how her beautiful store was built.

This afternoon, I had the opportunity fulfill my promise. Monica asked me to photography some of her cakes for an upcoming article…you decide for yourself if you don’t think these are the most beautiful cup cakes you’ve ever seen.

Melissa & Ernie Rieke

Filed under: Portraits — banfii @ 5:21 am

I had the opportunity to shoot Melissa & Ernie’s wedding on September 3, 2003 and since then, we’ve always talked about doing a family portrait. This year, Melissa asked that I photograph her family with Ernie’s family as a christmas present for Ernie’s parents.

It was quite a reunion considering that Melissa & Ernie now have 3 beautiful children :)
